About the bureau
Meta Bureau was founded in 2014 by Evgeny Morozov and Ekaterina Arefeva. We design urban public spaces, residential and public buildings, and work on territorial development and urban investment projects.
Our team has included architects, territorial development experts, sociologists, programmers and lawyers. Every project rests on three principles.
- 01Human scale
Not only dimensions and touch: above all, immersing people in a space and engaging them with it meaningfully. For us the outcome of design is a spatial story, an event and a reason for thought and impressions.
- 02Connection to place
We shift the focus from the object itself to its surroundings and see it in its social and cultural context. Architecture that grows from a specific place can greatly improve people's lives.
- 03Sustainability
The bureau has its own internal environmental standard: before releasing a project, we test it against criteria of sustainability and of how well the chosen solutions fit.
